Heart of Darkness

Marlow realizes that everything at the Inner Station belongs to Kurtz. Then, he wonders to what Kurtz might belong. Based on to your understanding of Kurtz and Marlow's story thus far, what do you think motivates Kurtz?

At this point in the novel, I thought that there was something more than money that motivated Kurtz. There seemed to be a foreboding obsession that Kurtz has with the darkness of the Amazon jungle. It was as if he was drawn to something that other white men were not drawn to.
