Do you think that a boy his age could realistically land a plane under these circumstances ?

Brian plays with the controls a little and gets a vague idea of how a plane works: he is a pretty resourceful boy. I can suspend my disbelief a little here. Brian's landing is rough and he barely survives the wreck. I'm willing to give the boy enough credit so the story can keep going.
