What is the problem and solution in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone?

A major conflict in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is between Harry, who represents good, and the return of Voldemort, evil incarnate. The conflict is resolved when Harry defeats Voldemort and keeps him from getting the sorcerer's stone, which would have offered him immortality. Voldemort, however, is defeated but not destroyed.
