What is the effect of including the references to Julius Ceasar's assassination in ancient Rome?

Unfortunately, we cannot ask Shakespeare's intent when he included the allusion to Julius Caesar. In my own opinion, the allusion mimics the supernatural aspects of Hamlet, as Caesar too, lived in a world of ghosts and omens.... that foretold his death.
