The climax of the story is in Act 3

Hamlet stabs Polonius through the arras in the stories climax. At this point he puts himself in direct conflict with the people around him, especially the King. But Polonius is also Ophelia's father, therefore another conflict arises with the fact that he's just killed the father of the woman he loves.
