In what sense, according to Hamlet , is Rosecrants like a sponge?

Hamlet refers to Rosencrantz as a sponge because he believes his so-called-friend to be an opportunist..... out for no one but himself. Rosencrantz wants to soak up all the benefits he can garner through his subservience to Claudius.
