How does Hamlet plan to avenge his father?

Ultimately he plans to dispose of Claudius, but he is very careful to make sure that the ghost has not lied to him and thus tricked him into an undeserved murder. In the end, he does not know exactly how it will happen, but when he realizes Claudius has killed his mother with his treachery, it does not take much for him to stab Claudius.
