Hamlet

Here are two separate quotes from Scene V. The first is King Hamlet's ghost talking to Hamlet. The second is Hamlet speaking to Horatio and Marcellus after he just saw his father's ghost. How do the moods of the two selections compare?

GHOST: "O wicked wit and gifts that have the power

So to seduce!--won to his shameful lust

The will of my most seeming virtuous queen.

O Hamlet, what a falling-off was there"

HAMLET: "Let us go in together,

And still your fingers on your lips, I pray.

The time is out of joint-- O cursed spite,

That ever I was born to set it right!

Nay, come, let's go together."

The ghost seems to be happy and Hamlet seems to be angry.

The ghost seems to be upset and Hamlet seems to be happy.

Both characters seem to be suffering by the circumstances they are in.

Both characters seem to be very excited by recent events.
