Hamlet

Hamlet

What does Hamlet ask Horatio to do for him when his father Claudius is watching the play in Act 3 Scene 2? Why would Hamlet be curious about Claudius' reaction. If you were Hamlet, what would you want to happen?

Hamlet wants Horatio to watch the King closely during the play. He considers Horatio a good judge of human nature. Hamlet wants Horatio to report on how the King reacts to the murder of the player king on the stage. Hamlet would want the King to panic. This would validate the ghost of Hamlet sr. and Hamlet's plans for revenge.
