Explain how the images in Laertes’s speech relate to his message

Laertes' speech is really about controlling women, in this case Ophelia. He uses sexual imagery, do not leave your chaste treasure open...to advise his sister on her behaviour with Hamlet. Ophelia's virginity is very much a commodity to be protected by the family until she is married.
