Hamlet grows somewhat slowly during the play, but he does grow and change. He goes from trying to find out if Claudius is guilty to finding out that he is through the play within the play and thus beginning to plan his revenge. He is, however, still slow about pursuing his revenge and ultimately does not seek revenge until all "stops" have been pulled out and he knows that Claudius is truly the evil man he has been told about by the ghost.
