  • Jonathan Groff replaced Brian d'Arcy James as King George III in the Off-Broadway production on March 3, 2015.[21]
  • Andrew Rannells temporarily assumed the role of King George III from Groff in the Broadway production from October 27 to November 29, 2015.[22]
  • Rory O'Malley assumed the role of King George III from Groff in the Broadway production on April 11, 2016. Groff returned to the role for one performance on June 28, 2016, as the performance was filmed.
