Why do we study literature and summaries? Everybody is telling me literature is good to study.

Well, that's a pretty big question. Summaries can help us understand works of literature better. Often we can miss details which a good summary helps to fill. AS an English teacher, it's hard to be objective about your literature question. Still, I am convinced that Literature provides a passionate record of humanity. We often get caught up in our lives forgetting the incredible tapestry of human existence. Pick up a good book and you are transported to other places, other times, other, other lives, even other worlds. That's not a bad way to spend an evening!
