The Laptutans don't care about practical matters like the dilapidation of their own houses or the erosion of their cities rather they worry intensely about abstract and often irrelevant concepts like the trajectories of comets and the course of the sun. They are fully dependant on the land below them, Lagado, for all their material needs.
