Gullliver's memories come from the many people of the many cultures he meets. For example, he is berated by the king of Brobdingnag for the seemingly senseless violence and war-mongering that is waged by the people of England. He is also entranced by Mistress, one of the important Houyhnhms, who sees him ultimately as little better than the animalistic Yahoos that live in that land. She teaches him much about civilization, but still classifies him as a Yahoo.

But what exactly was said to him that he remembers so well
