These amazing characters in the land of the Yahoos are shaped like animals (horses), but they are completely civilized in contrast to the dirty, sex-crazed Yahoos that they live in the same area with. The Houyhynyms are free from sin, they find the sins of mankind completely un-understandable, and they do not understand the value of such things as diamonds. They are the kindest, most completely humble group of beings and so in contrast from humans and all of their inhibitions and faults.
