Gulliver sets sail on a voyage that starts out prosperously but quickly takes a turn for the worse. The ship encounters violent storms, has bad food, and weakens the crew (twelve crew members die) when the ship hits a rock and is split. Six of the crew members, including Gulliver, get into a small boat and row until they are overturned by a "sudden Flurry." Gulliver swims until he is nearly exhausted, at which point he finds an island, comes across a patch of grass, and sleeps for what he estimates is more than nine hours.
When Gulliver awakens, he is lying on his back. He finds himself unable to sit up or move at all. His "Arms and Legs were strongly fastened on each side to the Ground; and [his] Hair, which was long and thick, tied down in the same manner." He feels something moving along his body almost up to his chin, at which point he sees that it is "a human Creature not six Inches high, with a Bow and Arrow in his Hands, and a Quiver at his Back." Gulliver will later learn that these creatures are called Lilliputians.
Gulliver's father send him to school to become a surgeon but he had lost for travelling,to set up new voyages and to explore the the world and human nature all around. In the very first chapter of gulliver's travel book 1 he sets up an voyage on sea but a bad luck happened to him and his ship caught by storm and derailed far away from their route, because of bad food few mambers of his crew died later on his ship hit the rock and got damaged .He with six crew members escaped in a dingy but their dingy also over turned.he lost his members and after along struggle he reached to the sea shore but highly exausted and went to sleep but bad luck when he waked up he was astonished because his hands ,legs, hair were tied down to the ground and he was unable to move.then he felt something like ants creeping over his body when he observed them from close quarters he found a starnge hardly six inched creature same like a human beings by physics. They were Lilliputants and Gulliver was on the island of Lilliput.
