The men of Balnibarbi are so obsessed with math that they do not realize their women are sleeping with other men. Gulliver finds it ironic that these men obsessed with Math cannot build proper houses. The men of Balnibarbi also want to do away with language, preferring alternative forms of communication like perhaps math.
