Pip sees Biddy as a sister. He can't see her as anything more because of his love for Estella. Although Estella is unattainable, Pip certainly seems to put more into his fanciful dreams about a life with her than his feelings for Biddy. He tells Biddy about his feelings for Estella because his own feeling for Estella blind him to that fact that Biddy truly cares for him. I believe that self-centered sums it up.
