Pip sees that he's missed out on Jane Pocket while he's been pursuing being a gentleman. (ch 33)

Pip is spending money he doesn't have in London like a drunken sailor. The debt will catch up to him. (ch.34)

Pip finds out Mrs. Joe has died and Pip realizes he has never been their for her. Instead he is living an empty life in London, void of any meaning. (ch 34)
