What does Joe do for Pip? How does Pip feel about himself and his action after Joe leaves?

Joe takes care of a sick Pip even after Pip has treated him badly. Pip begins to feel ashamed of himself; he begins to see that being a gentleman has nothing to do with money or status. Pip longs to be with people like Joe and Biddy who love him unconditionally.
