Great Expectations

Herbert Pocket makes an objective description of pip when he says “ a good fellow , with impetuosity, and hesitation, boldness and diffidence , action and dreaming, curiously mixed in him . Explain what Herbert means ????

I suppose Herbert is right. There is however a simpler explanation; Pip is a good fellow deep down but he gets easily swept away by illusions of money and gentry.
