Great Expectations

Magwitch and Pip both have a good heart. In their own ways they both tried to exceed their station in life (their class). Much of their relationship is developed as they lead separate lives. Pip has no idea that Magwitch is his benefactor until much later in the book. In the end, Pip and Magwitch share a unique bond. Pip goes beyond his selfish ways to help Magwitch die in peace.
