did you expect pip's roommate to be the "pale young gentlemen"?why or why not ? how well will they get along ? what effect does the appearance of the young gentleman have on Pip's belief that miss Havisham is his benefactor?

I do not think anyone expected Pip to have this particular roommate. We cannot assume that they will get along well, mostly because they have not gotten along in the past. However, the meeting of the pale young gentleman at Miss Havisham's in the past reinforces the idea that Miss Havisham is his benefactor since that is their connection.
