What does this sentence mean: "I was shaking from my thoughts a picture of the knife spinning on my floor." (132)

After Pieter tells Griet about Catharina's brother attacking her in the streets, these are Griet's thoughts. I could think of no way to interpret this, although I think it refers to Catharina knocking a knife to the ground in the first chapter.

Any ideas?
