Why are Vincent and his brother at odds?

Vincent is a natural born child, meaning he was not genetically engineered. His brother, Anton, is genetically engineered. Vincent always tried to compete with Anton. Anton looked down on Vincent. There is further tension between the two when Vincent begins surpassing his station in life. Vincent goes from being a janitor to being an elite pilot on a space launch by faking his identity. Anton, now a detective, is investigating his brother.
