Did the Gattaca Corporation encourage individuality and why?

I think they encouraged perfection rather than individualism. They cared that their launch pilots were genetically superior in every way. If they passed stringent criteria, I do not think that they sought individualism. I suppose we compete to get in schools and institutions today. We give blood tests to establish identity and body functions, and our hair can now be used to establish certain things about a person.
