The Woman
The Woman in the poem "Tropical Love" is a strong woman who is responsible towards her family and duties. She asks her lover to leave her if he can't be responsible towards herself and her children. She would rather do odd jobs on the roadside than let their family suffer.
The Pig
In the poem 'The Tree of Life', it is the pig who comes to know about the amazing properties of the tree of life. He is shown as a selfish pig who keeps the secret of the tree to himself and only fills his need and greed with the fruits borne by the tree.
The Rat
In the poem 'The Tree of Life', when people sense that something is amiss with the pig, they hire their best-skilled detectives to know what the tree is up to. All of those fail except the rat. However, the rat is as selfish as the pig and only spills out the secret when he is threatened to be killed.
