Gandhi: Selected Political Writings Summary

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, aka Mahatma Gandhi is called the Father of Nation in India. He believed that following the path of Ahimsa and Satyagraha can help one to achieve its inner strength.

In his essays, he explains the principles of Satyagraha and his strong belive on Satyagraha. Having faith in the power of truth gives Satyagrahi the power to stand tall against the violence, again he states that love is the only way to end hatred. Gandhi's idea of Satyagraha influenced the movement of Non-cooperation and Civil disobedience the powerful Indian movements for independence.

In the second section of the book includes his essays on the importance of Swaraj (Homerule). According to Gandhi, Poorna Swaraj means a government where class, creed and, injustice do not belong. Swaraj or self rule is just not to get freedom from the British rule but to achieve the control over government independently, and it can only betide by educating people so they can understand their rights and contribute building a nation of his dream.
