In which direction does Freak take them?

Out on a quest, Freak is in his usual spot atop Max's shoulders. Frank is directing Max through various neighborhoods including a ritzy one which Freak refers to as the Castle of Avarice. Freak claims he is being guided by a compass that was used by Lancelot and even the Black Knight. Even though Freak is very light, after several miles Max is becoming exhausted but Freak pushes him on. They finally come to a large medical research facility. After Max swears on his spit that he will not tell anyone, Freak reveals that he is being fitted for a new body—a fully robotic body. He will be the first person in history to have such a drastic procedure. Freak claims that he has been at the medical center numerous times for fittings for his near body. Max expresses his fear that the procedure would be dangerous to which Freak replies that "life is dangerous."
