Why does Victor feel he can't be with people? What opinion does Victor express about his creation?

Victor thinks that anyone he gets to know will be at the mercy of his creation. He does' wish to be responsible for more deaths; he wants no more blood on his hands. Victor blames his creation for his anguish and resolves to return to Geneva to protect the rest of his family.
