What do Victor Frankenstein and Robert Walton have in common? How are their goals, personalities and situations similar? How are they different?

They are both explorers in their own ways. Walton explores frontiers and Victor explores humanity and biology. They are both guilty of a kind of hubris, wanting to bask in the glory of their name. Victor's obsession causes more harm than Walton's does and it ruins more people.
