To the contemporary reader’s surprise, the creature has an excellent command of speech. What effect does this have on the reader? Why do you think Shelley has the creature speak this way?

The creature can articulate very well. The reader can connect with this. They can see the creature merely just wants what everybody wants: love and belonging.
