How much of a monster can someone be who can say  "but when i heard details of vice and bloodshed, my wonder ceased, and i turned away with disust and loathing"/ what does this tell you about the personality of the creature?

The creature is not a bad "person", that is one of the larger themes of the story. The creature is actually more empathetic than other characters in the story. He wants to be loved and he wants to give love. Tragically, he is not permitted to belong in society because of the way he looks.
