In what way is the novel a study of the results of pride?

Victor's pride is what keeps him from taking responsibility for his actions. People are killed, and Victor's creation is left virtually unprotected (something that gives it cause for revenge) all because he refuses to see what he has done and take responsibility for the corrections that need to be made to the situation.
