How is suspense created toward the end of these chapters? What are some of the “loose ends?”

Suspense is created in the fact that we don't know what happened to the creature..... we know he's gone and run away, but we don't know where or how it is doing... or if it has survived. Victor, on the other hand, seems to have moved on.... things are just a little too good to be true.
