how does victor become a disenfranchized member of society himself

Well, basically Victor tries to run away from everything. He escapes to the mountains and longs to be alone, far away from anybody. Victor feels he can no longer form relationships because any friends he makes will be vulnerable to the creature. Victor also finds this isolation a fitting penance for his sins.
