How does the stranger react when Walton says he will let nothing interfere with his journey?

The stranger realizes that sometimes things do get in the way of one's dreams. A quest, such as the one that Walton is on, can be lifechanging; if one is inflexible (as the stranger has been), or if one has consequences that come from that dream that were unexpected, then there may be no way that the goal of the quest can really be achieved. Sometimes the dream is actually somehow perverted.
