in chapter 8, why did victor keep his suspicions regarding Williams murder to him self? Was it the right thing to do?

Victor cannot reveal his suspicions without revealing his own part in the tragedy. His decision to keep what he knew to himself would ultimately cause and even allow his creation to commit more murders.
