This depends on what you mean by "current". In general, Victor holds a lot of responsibility for the monster's actions. Victor abandoned the monster the minute he was "born". The monster knew nothing about the cruelty of the world. The monster had to survive without any memory or skills. The monster had never known love or affection. It is not surprising that he lashes out at the world and seeks vengeance.
