Students will be able to discus the relationship between character development and plot.

Students will play the role of Mary Shelley brainstorming ideas for her story. Specifically, they will write notes about how she came up with the idea to have the creature stay in a hovel, watching the family through a hole.
Have students begin by briefly summarizing the creature's life before the discovery of the cottage. Do not include the cottage in the summary.
