I find it interesting that this line was struck from the 1935 film. Seems the producers thought it was an inappropriate thing for a character to say. Of course it was inappropriate! This is Shelley's whole point. Humans have no business messing around with God's job of creating life. To remove this line is to remove some of the story's significance. Victor's attempt to play God accounts for all the tragedy of the story.
If you watch closely, you can see how the line was removed. Just as the creature comes to life, thunder covers up Frankenstein's words. Read his lips and you can tell what he is saying. Sad that the line had to be covered. Interesting also that the film production company was so concerned about image then. Today, it seems that anything goes.

I totally agree with you, the whole point of this novel was to show what happens when you want to play god. Shellybwanted to show how devastating it would be to society if one were to transcend death.
