Bacon was a moralist, and he preached morality and virtue. Note however, that Bacon did not follow God's laws of virtue and morality in his own life when faced with decisions that would alter his own success in THIS world. Bacon's personal example of morality might lead us to believe that he placed his major focus on how a man is perceived, rather than how he actually lives.
