Chapter Two's main event was the dinner Thomas Jefferson held at his home on Maiden Lane in New York City. This dinner was planned with the intent of convincing Hamilton and Madison to put aside their differences and compromise in choosing the site for the nation's capital. The chapter also gives information about other dinners Jefferson planned as well, but the main event was the dinner with Hamilton and Madison.
