He seemed to have a majestic air dueto stiffness and formality turning into aloofness. His character made him seem like theleader in any group and the stand out. Naturally a tall man, standing a full head above hiscolleagues, people around him seemed to organize themselves around him. Also, hismajestic air found its way to newspapers, and a New York editorial claimed we gave himthe powers of a king and he acted like one. This chapter says a lot about his character,helping him in his political career.
