Probably, though Hemingway never actually took part on any fighting
He is an American because he was American, and Hemingway knew mostly what American meant.
Hemingway was a journalist, so he was being paid to be there, he did support the Leftist stand against Fascism.
Internationals from many countries fought in this war, the testing ground for World War II
It should make people wonder it took America so long to enter the World War against Fascism
