When Charlie leaves his dad Matt's Barber shop...

Although Charlie tries to establish a relationship with his father in the barber shop, his father Matt does not recognize him and simply gives him a hair cut. The ending is sad because Charlie never is able to connect with his father who has long since abandoned him and Charlie's mother.
