Flowers for Algernon

What evidence from the text proves that Charlie is an unreliable narrator?

What evidence from the text can prove the statement, "The story, 'Flowers For Algernon', is in a first person point of view, Charlie being our narrator. He tells the story from his point of view, we can tell he does not always understand what is going on and the statements he makes in his progress reports are opinion based. Therefore, Charlie is not a reliable narrator."

The details of the operation are vague at best. As Charlie's intelligence improves, so does the shift in mood and tone. Charlie, however, remains unsure of himself emotionally so we never really know how he is evolving. When does the breakdown begin? Charlie's newly formed emotions are scattered and intense. It is difficult to take everything he says at face value and put them in proper context.
