I know how mary and paul could be considered wonder workers in their own ways however I am not sure how dunstan can be compared or contrasted as a wonder worker with these two other characters.

Paul Dempster is a magician. His "wonder work" isn't metaphysical so much as psychological. He is able to manipulate and even hypnotise. The snowball rock in Percy's mouth or the Brazen Head illusion at the end of the book is proof of this. In this way Paul uses the human psyche as your teacher calls "wonder works". Dunstan is a figure who finds himself amidst the wonder works more than causing them. His study of hagiography makes his mind open to the heightened metaphysical as well as the psychological world. He is the interpreter of these wonders and the reader experiences them through Dunstan. It can perhaps be argued that Dunstan's "wonder work" is to guide the reader through this fantastical world.
