Farewell to Manzanar

When Papa returns to the family, how do things start to change in and around Manzanar?(While Papa’s drinking is a change, think bigger, the whole camp, not just the family)

When Papa was allowed to join his family in Manzanar, he was like an old man. He was physically altered. Papa also turned to alcohol, which sometimes made him react violently. The people in Manzanar see Papa as a traitor, as he has been released earlier than anyone else. Thus, Papa stays away from everyone else and keeps to the quarters assigned to his family. Ko does, however, take a stand up for himself when the government requires a loyalty oath be signed.... this changes many of the hard feelings aimed toward him in the camp.
